Four Things

One of my favorite possessions—a little ceramic pegasus-unicorn that my husband found in a Florida thrift store for 49 cents. I have no idea if the holes in its wings serve any purpose other than to appear decorative, though.
Felicia and Siel both tagged me for that “four things” meme that’s going around. Even I found most of my answers insipid, so I’ll leave off responding to all but the penultimate question, which occupied my thoughts on this morning’s commute. (A migraine, precipitated either by this morning’s storm or a sickie spouse, made it impossible to read.) At first I came up with vanilla answers like “working on my illustration portfolio” or “anywhere but in this train with this stupid migraine OHGODOHGODI’MGOINGTOTHROWUP,” but then I really got into it.
Four places I’d rather be right now:
1. Having tea with a kindred spirit in a small cottage in the country
2. Getting a master’s in comparative folklore (although I doubt I have the stamina for another graduate degree, honestly)
3. Learning how to spin, dye, or otherwise produce a line of yarn that’s sustainable, fairly traded, and eco-friendly
4. Visiting flea markets and antique/curio shops in the south of France
For the record, my favorite food is Peanut Butter Bumpers, which I can eat day and night, and frequently do because I’m a GROWNUP dammit, and NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER! (Okay, I think I’m coming off the Excedrin now.)

A small cottage in the country? What happened to small urban coffee shops? C’mon now — We’re kindred spirits, no? And I can almost guarantee that we will not be hanging out in a small cottage or in the country anytime soon… ;)

You should most definately learn to spin…it is very relaxing - although the business aspect of it is more lively. BTW, the holes in your unicorn are for hanging earrings!
