Moth-Repellent Storage

Cedar Storage Tote by RubbermaidLast night, while in Chelsea, we made a detour to Home Depot because the hub-unit needed to take a whiz. Near the entrace were stacks and stacks of brown, speckled storage totes by Rubbermaid that are allegedly moth- and silverfish-repellent because of cedar-wood fibers embedded in the resin.

I couldn’t find much information on them online, not even on Rubbermaid’s Web site—neither do I know what the resin itself is composed of—but I thought I’d just toss this nugget of discovery out there for knitters looking for easier ways to keep moths out of their stashes. (Let the buyer beware, of course, so don’t shoot the messenger if it turns out to be a load of hooey. It might save many a would-be space and ziploc bag from landfill purgatory, though.)
