Recycled Aluminum-Can Art

Aluminum-can lunchbox from IndigoArts.com

Lunchbox made in South Africa from tomato-paste tins ($22-$42, IndigoArts)

Aluminum-can air balloon from FourSistersGarden.com

Hot-air balloon made by fair-trade artists in Vietnam from recycled soda cans ($19.95, Four Sisters Garden)

These pieces crafted from old aluminum cans have me completely flummoxed and in awe of the artisans’ skills. (If I were ever to attempt this, all you’d find would be tangled shreds of bloodied skin left behind, though, granted, I have the coordination of a pack mule hopped up on amphetamines.)
