2 Rabbits

2 Rabbits by Hope Larson

Comic by Hope Larson

This comic illustrates one of the reasons I hate cars, people who drive cars, and people who ride in cars. (Yes, I realize I’m including myself in that last group.)

Sometimes I just want to run away to a remote farm, where I can live out my days nursing abandoned baby lambs and spitting pumpkin seeds at empty beer cans. (Note to nondrinker self: Find person to imbibe beer, first.)

Humans. Blow. Chunks.

This cartoon made me want to barf. It’s so standard issue out here to hit and kill animals that people treat it like a joke. It’s profoundly disturbing.

It happens so often though. The first time I remember my parents hitting an animal I started crying. It was a butterfly.

I live in the countryside where you would find your remote farm and sick baby lambs and it is beautiful. But without a car it would be very hard to survive.

Nearest grocery store - Rolands, 5 minutes by car, about an hour long walk.
Nearest store with clothes - Walmart, 35 minutes by car, I never tried walking.
Nearest farm supply store - Southern States, 40 minutes by car, and I never tried walking that either.

For groceries we could probably make it without a car but for feed and such it would be alot harder. And if you don’t have animal feed what are you going to nurse the lamb on?

I love your blog, very educational :D
