Blog Love: FeliciaSullivan.com
In her latest post, brilliant writer Felicia talks about overcoming her myriad addictions and discovering that living simply is the true key to happiness:
it’s only until this year, this month, really, that i’ve realized that it’s not about wanting and having everything, it’s about acquiring what you love, what you can appreciate, and sometimes the things you love aren’t really things, they’re people, experiences, saturdays in target laughing on ottomans, it’s licking pistachio gelato off a spoon, it’s grilling a sandwich, it’s making a phone call and falling in love all over again with the person on the other line, it’s closing a book your friend just wrote and it’s being thrilled that someone like her is alive, it’s when eleven friends tell you on your birthday that they’re so glad that you were born. no chanel dress can match that. bottles of wine can’t better that.
Word.

This is absolutely true. If you buy something new, chances are in a few years you won’t even remember it. But when someone gives you a compliment, or tell syou they love you, or are glad you were born, that sticks with you forever.

I’ve started writing down everyday what I am grateful for- it’s amazing what you can come up with. None of it needs to be fancy or sparkly- like Felicia says, even just grilling a sandwich can be the most wonderful thing. I’m going to check her out…

Whoa.
I just came here through somewhere else. Your site is amazing! I am someone who is on the threshold … no, I am in the house but maybe just in the foyer I think when it comes to environmental issues. This place is just bursting with great information for more mainstream folks like me along with the diehards. I need to go or I will be here all day. I’ll come back …
