My sister-in-law just pointed out Starbucks’ newest green initiative, in partnership with Global Green. I would probably take them more seriously if their paper carriers—just flip them over to see—weren’t printed in China and assembled in Indonesia. Feh, don’t even get me started.

Hello! I just found your blog and am really enjoying it!
Back when they started out, I loved to go to Starbucks. I was supporting a business started by innovative grads of the school we were at at the time — woo hoo!
But now, I avoid them like the plague. We’ve got a nice independent coffee shop in our neighborhood that only uses fair trade coffees and teas, and *that’s* where I spend my beverage dollars.
