A chemical used to make stain-resistant fabrics and carpets is not only a “likely” human carcinogen (as designated by the U.S. EPA), but also could be making folks more susceptible to allergies. For floors, stick to sustainably produced hardwood flooring and use natural-fiber area rugs, instead.
