How walkable is your neighborhood? I scored 92 out of a possible 100, or “Walker’s Paradise: Most errands can be accomplished on foot and many people get by without owning a car.” Bonanza! [via Green LA Girl]

whoa i just realized how much this site can help me - i am in the process of moving + finding a place (online, before we go up in person), and having things within walking distance is a huge factor for me, but you can’t tell based on craigslistings… so now i can find out what’s nearby! thank you!!

Well, 71 out of 100. And looking at the results of the what is located in my neighborhood, it should really be a 50 or 60. Eek. Unfortunately I live in the “Old Town” area of my city, which is a very aesthetic and historical place to be so that is fun, but it’s geared towards weekend suburbanites with it’s upscale boutiques and art galleries. It meets almost none of the daily needs of average locals. I was all excited that we have a monthly farmer’s market until I went there and there was not a vegetable in sight. Only honey, very expensive pork, and flowers.
