What makes Sarah Palin a patriot? Why do Republicans tend to have such a narrow view of patriotism? I think that my railing against what I see going on in this country is every ounce as patriotic as supporting America and her leadership always and without question.

Also, I can’t remember the last time that someone said liberals and conservatives can’t be friends. However, I don’t have conservative friends, because I think they’re incredibly wrong-headed, and I believe that their politics probably inform their characters as much as mine do.

In any event, I think that there are many things more important than loving America and loving God — human rights, being good stewards of the earth’s resources, and making sure that everyone has the opportunity to decide whether to become a parent — not just her daughter.
